Canyon River Blues® was founded in 1996 with a simple vision – to make high-quality, comfortable American-made apparel accessible to everyone. For over 25 years, we’ve stayed true to that goal, becoming one of the most beloved and recognized jeans, shoes, boots, jackets, coats, and sandals brands in the United States.
Our story begins in the American Southwest, where our founders Dave and Susan were longtime residents. This rugged, beautiful landscape served as the inspiration for the Canyon River Blues brand – capturing the spirit of adventure, authenticity, and individuality.
As avid hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, Dave and Susan were frustrated by the lack of durable, affordable gear available at the time. Most options were either cheaply made or exorbitantly expensive designer brands. They saw a need in the market for functional, everyday apparel made to last without the premium price tag. And so, Canyon River Blues was born.
Made in America
From the beginning, we’ve been committed to American manufacturing. We proudly partner with factories and artisans across the USA to produce our collection of clothing and footwear. By keeping production onshore, we’re able to closely oversee quality control while supporting domestic jobs and businesses.
We use high-quality materials like ring-spun cotton denim from North Carolina and full-grain leather from Chicago tanneries. Our boots and shoes are handcrafted in small batches by experienced cobblers. And all finishing touches, from thread to rivets to embroidered accents, are sourced from American vendors. The result is timeless heritage style, made to break in – not break down.

Our premium selvedge and stretch denim jeans are made right here in the USA from rich ring-spun cotton. We use natural indigo dyes and hand sand each pair for a perfectly broken-in feel. Plus, you’ll find all the classic styles – bootcut, slim, straight, relaxed – in regular, tall, and big & tall sizes.
Layer up against crisp weather with our updated take on the classic trucker jacket or sherpa-lined jeans jacket. We use sturdy 12 oz cotton denim and wool-blend sherpa to keep you warm around the campfire or on the job site.
Our collection of casual shirts includes cozy flannels, sunny chambrays, and mellow washed tees. Each piece is thoughtfully constructed from soft, lightweight fabrics designed to wear in, not wear out.

Sustainability & Giving Back
At Canyon River Blues, we aim to make conscious choices that minimize our environmental impact. We use OEKO-TEX certified dyes, recycled polyester, and sustainably-grown cotton in our products and recycled paper in our packaging. By manufacturing locally, we reduce emissions from overseas shipping.
We also partner with trees.org to plant a tree for every order placed on our website. So far, we’ve planted over 500,000 trees in North American forests – rebuilding habitats, purifying air, and reducing CO2.
Giving back to our community is also extremely important to us. We’re proud to partner with local charities across the Southwest supporting causes like:
